Poster Design
2024
Software: Adobe Illustrator
Client: School Project

In this project, I created a promotional poster for a travel company to highlight the cultural and historical significance of Bagan, Myanmar. My design used illustration, gradients, and color treatments to capture the city’s essence while ensuring a clear balance between typography and imagery. Through feedback and iterations, I adapted the design to resonate with the target audience, strengthening both my technical skills and problem-solving in visual communication.

Process
At the start, my subject of my poster design revolved around “thingyan,” which is a Burmese water festival held in April, meant to cleanse the past and start anew. With this idea in mind, I had about 3-4 ideas, which I tried. However, it did not work out the way I had envisioned

Sc ratching my initially idea away, I took it from a different approach and decided to focus on another significant cultural aspect of Myanmar. Bagan is a ancient city, full of pagodas surrounded trees. It’s a popular tourist place, where tourist can explore the pagodas and enjoy the view from a hot air balloon.

With a clearer idea, I tried to emulate the ambience and look of the beautiful city through thoughtful usage of gradients.
