Architect of Sustainable, Community-Driven Design

Booklet Design
2024
Software: Adobe Illustrator
Client: School Project

This experimental booklet design explores the philosophy, design principles, and works of architect Diébédo Francis Kéré through visually expressive and unconventional methods. The project focuses on themes of unity and community central to his work, incorporating tactile materials like handmade and corrugated paper to reflect his commitment to sustainability and local resources. Drawing inspiration from a previous cube project, the booklet features layouts that balance cohesion with originality, presenting Kéré’s buildings and ideas in a way that is both informative and impactful.

Process
This project centers around architect Diébédo Francis Kéré, who is driven my community and sustainable design. In my design, I really wanted to emphasize that aspect and emulate his philosophy.

The booklet design is inspried from a star book design. Since his main focus is about community and unity, I wanted to showcase that through the connection of each page, spread, and layer to make one whole.
